A colleague asked me if I could help him on a commercial photography shoot for Odeon Cinemas. Of course I said, who wouldn’t?
As part of a drive to promote the use of their facilities for corporate hospitality and conferences we were tasked with supplying stills showcasing the environment at one of the companies flagship venues in Bayswater. David had already produced some fine work for Odeon in the past and as I had experience in conference photography we knew we would make great photography for Odeon to showcase their facilities and the potential they offer clients.
For most of the shoot we were shadowing a film crew who had been drafted in to produce a promo video. This meant we had the models and some of the extras for short time frames between scenes. We also lit our own scenes and drafted in a specialist in order to minimise any time loss. The day was long with never a dull moment and working alongside a film crew does usually throw up a few issues. But they were happy we didn’t mess up their shoot and the client was so pleased that they invited us back to shoot all their conferences! Result!
